Beck - Mutations
One of the most inventive and eclectic artists who emerged after the so-called "alternative revolution" 90's, Beck began to sort of the embodiment of postmodern chic. Using a great variety of stylistic influences - pop, folk, psychedelia, hip-hop, country, blues, R & B, funk, indie rock, jazz, lounge, Brazilian music - Beck created his own musical style, which characterized by high saturation of all kinds of ideas and exciting spirit of unpredictability. Beck freely borrowed elements of different styles, combining and contrasting in the same songs such sounds, which could not be met under natural conditions. Pinned to his music of any kind was a simple label was virtually impossible - Beck firmly believed in the complete absence of restrictions and practices, and all his works reflect this belief. A quiet and gentle acoustic plate seemed a big surprise after the bustling kaleidoscope of styles on "Odelay", why Beck and Geffen always emphasize the fact that "Mutations" never imagined a sort of follower of "Odelay". Nevertheless, the album again hit the Top 20.
