Billie Holiday - American singer, an outstanding jazz singer. Before the release of the book Stuart Nicholson in 1995 little was known about her childhood. But he relied on his autobiographical book "Lady Sings the Blues", released in 1959. After her death, began to come out books, publications appeared in journals, were published discographies, whole chapters devoted to her research on the history of jazz, steel making films, on television, created programs about the life and work of Billie Holiday. Despite the limited vocal abilities, the singer had a remarkable gift of improvisation, mastery of division jazz phrases, surprising entry into the unpretentious lyrics of her songs. All this made her a true master, the original actress, highly professional vocalist.
