Bjork: Volumen (DVD) (1999)
Björk's musical career began when she was 11 years old. One of her instructors sent a recording of songs by Bjork, then the only radio station in Iceland, which included the song on the air. After that, she was offered a contract to record an album, and in 1977 she recorded her debut album with the help of her stepfather, who played the guitar. The album presentedin Icelandic children's songs and cover versions of such popular songs as «The Fool on the Hill» (The Beatles) in Icelandic. The album went platinum in Iceland. At age 14, she organized a punk band called «Spit and Snot», and soon jazz fusion project «Exodus» (1979). In 1981, she and bassist «Exodus» Jakob Magnusson (Jakob Magnusson) formed a band Jam-80, soon became «Tappi Tíkarrass».
The project released a single that same year, and the album «Miranda» in 1983. After this, together with Einar Benediktsson ERN and Thor Eldon (Tor Eldon, was later married her, they had a son Sindri in 1986) she organized a group Kukl, gradually grew into The Sugarcubes in the summer of 1986. These groups have released several albums of alternative music. The Sugarcubes were highly successful alternative rock band, including the UK and the U.S., they are interested in major labels. Parallel work with Sugarcubes, Björk recorded a jazz album «Gling-Glo» with «Trio Guamundar Ingolfssonar» and took part in recording the album «Ex: el» e-Project 808 State. Sugarcubes disbanded in 1992. The group had very different ambitions, and decided to separate, so as not to risk their friendship, linking them to this day.
