Brazzaville: In Istanbul (2010)
Brazzaville - Los Angeles VIA-based David Brown in 1997 and engaged in elegiac pop music. In Brazzaville surprisingly beautiful, quiet, intellectually stimulating lyrics, bearing the brunt of several exotic - from Brazilian bossa-new to the pounding of the Caribbean. The album was attended by musicians such performers as Dave Gahan, Tom Waits, Lou Reed and Johnny Cash; producers Nigel Godrich ("6th member" Radiohead), and Tony Hoffer (Air, Beck, Dave Gahan). The new album, Brazzaville, led by the irreplaceable David Brown, was written with the assistance of a string orchestra. The album includes versions of classic numbers group, recorded in Istanbul with Turkish musicians.
