Description: Charles-Camille Saint-Saens - French composer, organist, conductor, music critic and writer. "Carnival of the Animals" was written by Saint-Sa?ns in February 1886 during a holiday in Austria. The composer conceived this music as a surprise to a concert cellist who Lebuk Charles had to give to the Fat Tuesday celebration. The first performance took place on March 9, 1886, it involved a flutist Paul Taffanel, clarinetist Charles Turban, bassist Emil de Bahia, for which the composer wrote a special solo episodes. Party two pianos performed by himself and Saint-Saens, Louis Demer. Assuming this is the product of a musical joke, Saint-Sa?ns forbade him to publish in his lifetime, not wanting to pass for the author of "not serious" music. All the known performance of "Carnival of Animals", which took place before 1921 (the year the death of Saint-Saens), held in private collections. So, a month after the premiere, April 2, 1886, this work was done in the home of Pauline Viardot in the presence of Franz Liszt. In other versions at various times participated Gabriel Pierne, Alfred Cortot, Alfredo Casella (piano), Maren Marsick (violin), Anatoly Brandukov (cello), Philippe Gaubert (flute), Prosper Mimar (clarinet). The only part of the suite, which Saint-Saens allowed to issue and execute - the play "The Swan" for cello and piano. Even during the composer's life is firmly established in the repertoire of cellists. After the death of Saint-Saens' score 'Carnival' was published and first performed in a public concert February 25, 1922. Music has a great reputation and is often performed in concerts. Often, the "Carnival of Animals" presented as music for children and combined with the poetic or prose texts written specifically for the performance. Genre: ? Classical Tracklist: 1.
