Candlemass - Documents Of Doom
Candlemass - Swedish rock band, known as one of the founders of the genre of doom metal and one of the most successful artists in this style. The band is originally from Stockholm. The group was founded by bass guitarist and composer Leif Edling in 1984 after the collapse of his previous group Nemesis. In the first part also included vocalist Johan Langkvist, guitarists Mats Mappe Bjorkman and Claes Bergvall, drummer Mats Ekström. Their first release, Epicus Doomicus Metallicus (1986), Nightfall (1987) won the group widely known among fans of metal.Music on this album is a completely new direction at that moment in rock music: the slow, viscous, dark style, reminiscent of hard-rock album of early Black Sabbath, but with a slant toward weighting.
