Kaktus Fresh. Kaktus In Kolo Live 2007
Initially, Kaktus Fresh was created on the basis of Dmytro Alexandrov's sextet as a TV stage-band for the program "Star Duet". The program has passed away, while Kaktus Fresh has not. The composition of musicians, the mood of the music may change, but the quality – actually, the freshness corresponding to the name – stays. Thus, the concert within the project Jazz-Kolo, April, 2007. First, you will not find here cliché standards – authors' compositions by our musicians sound here only. And secondly – pay attention to the participants list, there are two lines. One: Dmytro "Bobeen" Alexandrov (tenor saxophone), Natalia Lebedeva (piano), Yuri Koinichenko (trombone) – experienced masters of high class not only in the context of Ukraine. The second one: Dennis Adu (trumpet), Kostyantyn Ionenko (bass), Oleg Markov (drums) – these are young musicians, though far not novices either. For example, Oleg Markov at the moment of recording was 16 years old only, but he is already habitually – and deservedly – included into the number of the best jazz drummers of Ukraine... All this comes down to that when such two lines meet, no vacuum remain – the expressive manner, voluminous music thought plus young energy and flexibility. There arises saturated, powerful, but also refined, elegant music. Bright, varied – since for the seven plays there are five authors here – and, at the same time, surprisingly integral. Live.
