This Finnish band was formed in 1995. The original members were: lead singer Ville Valo (born November 22, 1976), guitarist Linde (Vilyami Lindstrom (born August 17, 1976), bassist Miguet Amour (born December 19, 1974) and drummer Yyuhana Rantala. In 1996, joined the team keyboardist Antti Melasnemi. The first group name was "His Infernal Majesty", but later decided to shorten the band name, so it did not cause any undesirable associations. In 1996, "HIM" released their debut EP, "666 Ways to Love". In the next year saw the light of a full-length album "Greatest Lovesongs, Vol. 666", which contained the notorious received things such as "Your Sweet 666", "When Love & Death Embrace" and "Wicked Game" (cover of Chris Isaak). Then, during his Career Group had also made covers of songs "Depeche Mode", "Cutting Crew", "Sisters Of Mercy", the Madonna, Billy Idol, "Berlin" and the "Motorhead"). The first album "H.I.M." demonstrated a hard, but melodic enough to Industrial Gothic, or rather, "satanic" bias in the lyrics. This group was not alien to the kind of lyricism, reflected in the song "Heartless". All this, combined with provocative looks handsome Ville Valo and other participants at once attracted the attention of the band, though mainly in Finland. In 1998, "H.I.M." went on a tour of his native country, and then received the prize "Jyrki Video Awards" in the category "Best Heavy Video" for the song "When Love & Death Embrace". The popularity of the team began to grow outside Finland, particularly in Germany, where he also took the single and album, and then took a tour. In the same year, keyboardist Antti decided to leave the team, but since there are no irreplaceable people, his place was Yussi Salminen. The Group has made quite a successful European tour, and in 2001 she got up to Russia. At the annual ceremony of "Finnish Music Awards" in Helsinki "HIM" won two awards - the "Group of the Year and Album of the Year.
