"Merciless" is one of the first Swedish team, who worked at the intersection of thrash and death metal, and derives its inspiration from the furious riffs bands such as "Kreator", "Sodom", "Destruction", "Bathory". The group was formed in the summer of 1986 in the small town Strangnas that 80 kilometers north of Stockholm. The first lineup included guitarist Eric Wallin, Fredrik Carlen bassist and drummer Stefan Karlsson, nicknamed Stipe. A few weeks later the team came and vocalist - Calle. Staffed part played several local gigs under the names "Obsessed" and "Black Mass", and in early 1987, the first group of its name "" Merciless ". This film, containing four songs, sold out in scanty numbers - only 100 copies. However, it soon became clear that Calle is not a man who needs a team, and with him had to say goodbye. In early 1988 the first place vocalist Roger "Rogge" Petersson, and rehearsals were held much more interesting. In June, recorded the second demo chetyrehtrekovaya, "Realm of Dark".
