Naughty By Nature - Iiicons
Hip-Hop has always acted fairly rigidly to their heroes. Some did not survive the bloody battle between the East Side and West Side, others could not adapt to the changing fashion, third, richer, too remote from the laws of the genre of poor neighborhoods, and have become irrelevant. For these reasons, many rappers is hard to maintain shape after five years in your favorite "business". Not to mention the second decade. Destroying unpleasant trend, Naughty by Nature in opposition to her own fifth album, Iicons. Two black guys from Illtown, New Jersey for the first time made their appearance in the early 90s, and released a whole pack of monster hits, which quickly proved that rappers could be accessible to the wider audience, creating a kind of pop-sound, while remaining a priority for a "street" coordinates and values. Even now you can easily remember such downhole hits as «OPP» and «Hip Hop Hooray», which brought the group a huge number of fans, and in which Naughty by Nature can easily compete with such industry leaders as Public Enemy and Ice Cube . The album title can be translated as "Icons". Sure, rappers are referring to themselves, and apparently, the guys from Naught by Nature have every reason to be named in such a resounding name. Treach, one of the NBN, absolutely not shy about such expressions, thus defining its place in hip-hop culture. Iicons sustained in the good old tradition of early NBN. Listening to the album, you can imagine how nostalgic veterans of the streets under severe sharp reading of Treach and Vinnie, screaming trumpet Da Beatminerz in the title track, «Naughty by Nature» and introduced by Thomas Sarl elements of reggae. In the album there are some interesting features, forcing it to sound modern - a chic set of producers and MC. Duet with Pink adorns «What U Wanna Do», making it versatile for a possible target audience. «Feels So Good» has the dance energy, due to the winding chorus performed by 3LW. But for many the most valuable will be exactly what the album is imbued with the spirit of the incomparable early 90s, thanks to the talented guys from Naughty by Nature. Hip Hop Hooray!
