30 Seconds to Mars - This Is War (2009)
New album of cult American band !!!!! It's been a long four years. Time full of troubles and, as they say in law films, "reasonable doubt". Too boldly and aggressively they tried on the strength of the laws show industry. Too long been fans' patience. 30 Seconds to Mars - loved by girls, almost as many a fan of Robert Pattinson, took a four-year time-out after the first successful album. For any other pop group such a pause would be tantamount to suicide, if not creative, then the commercial - for sure. Not that Jared did disappear from our monitors. Network regularly supplies us with "proof of life". He built houses for the poor, he pleaded with EMI, he gained 60 pounds to play the movies of Mark David Chapman, he was floundering and drowning in awards and nominations, and told in an interview with an old friend - David Fincher - his homosexuality extends beyond the film set tape "Alexander". But the release of new album (the promise of a very long time) all deferred. And, finally, the hope that we, in general, ever hear him, was very small - like a stone in the kidney. Even harder to believe that «This Is War» can be even compared with the «A Beautiful Lie» - all too reminiscent of the notorious second-album syndrome. And the album recorded, and confounded the skeptics - is a rare case where the expectation of the holiday is not better than the holiday. «This is War» in no way inferior to their previous album 30 Seconds to Mars, this is another record, which strongly nothing to find fault. Retaining the old rhythm and drive, sense and sensitivity, noise and fury, 30 Seconds to Mars, paradoxically, sounded softer. Keyboards parties (despite the resignation of Matt Wachter, bass and synthesizers, was in charge) was, perhaps, a little more. Harmony became lighter. Appeared (occasionally) vocoder, and (in the form of conceptual progress on an ongoing basis) choral singing. Last - a real «Vox populi» - voices of real fans, recorded at the opening session - is used as a separate "tool". All these seemingly populist and frivolous funds led to quite grand results: «This Is War» - this is downright epic canvas. To some, such a comparison, certainly, seem inappropriate (and someone, perhaps blasphemous), but it appears that 30 Seconds to Mars this year has something that has not managed OneRepublis. And those and others, followed by the cutting, once left dead gods U2. And those and others, formally remaining pop idols, not fearing the pathos, and swung so hard and high as possible. Tedder missed. Summer came exactly at the target - this record is so mighty, majestic and beautiful, that any genre labels to this group is no longer glued. On «This is War» is particularly noticeable as 30 Seconds to Mars more conditioned emo-context in which they are usually inscribe. Around them has always been a lot of fans' noise, which is rather frightened "by the people. But now you have to be very much deaf not to hear a girlish vereschaniem how cool is that it provokes vereschanie. You need to be a hopeless snob not to understand than Jared Leto differs from Robert Pattinson and charged by the general hysteria - 30 Seconds to Mars is one of those small groups that justify their existence to the practice fanatstva. Now 30 Seconds to Mars resemble U2 in much greater degree than themselves U2. What, on the one hand, it is not surprising (given that it wards ubiquitous Mark Ellis, better known as the Flood). And, on the other, still surprising, since they have a very special and (in contrast to U2)-to-date sound, go recognizable harmony, it is an exclusive atmosphere. For all the similarities of vocal mannerisms, Jared Leto with Bono is not confused. And in general, 30 Seconds to Mars - one of those groups with which other, and not vice versa. Understand how an aggressive and dominant medium can be, for example, on track «Hurricane», where Jared echoes Kanye West, and keyboard parts performed by The Killers frontman Brandon Flowers. These, as you know, not the last in the show industry people who do not bring outside nothing. «Hurricane» - is one hundred per cent of 30 Seconds to Mars, and if, instead of on DVD would be Decl, but instead Flowers - Raimonds Pauls, it is unlikely that anything would change. This is, in general, very solid album. Continuous room here categorically no - «This Is War» and «Kings and Queens, seem to have been selected for the singles at random. In short, worries were unfounded, and expectation - on the contrary. But, if it were in my power, I would in a purely selfish considerations for gunshot never let Jared Leto to the pizzeria and addictive nature. Without the film "Chapter 27" I somehow live. But those albums I would prefer to receive significantly more frequently than once every four years.
